Err, I wouldn't normally post in my kimono blog about kitsuke items I wanted but didn't get but this one was so awesome I must grieve about it here a bit I promise it won't be long!

I check Shinei everyday for new kitsuke items and today I saw this, fell in love and died so much when I saw it was sold already. ;_;

Photos are from Shinei's website.

Just... oh my god that color combination!! I love that shade of blue/teal/whatever fghdjs;sgjah! Also, I've wanted one of these split-color kimono I don't remember if they had a specific name for the longest time but they are so rare... and it doesn't help that this one had my ideal kimono length either.. *goes to cry in kimono corner*
Oh well, maybe I find something similar someday... maybe... lolnope.

Kimono and a trip to Lidl

I wore kimono today because, I don't know, I just felt like it. Yeah, I guess I had one of those "screw normal clothes"-days, haha.
I really don't have anything to say about the coordination nothing really special about it. I felt like wearing my dark brown kimono. I don't have any photos except this one, on which I have the weirdest I-don't-give-a-crap face so please don't mind that. xD

Well well, the awesome thing was that I wore kimono all day and at one point mom needed to go grocery shopping and she asked if I wanted to go with her why not? I was kinda bored and didn't have anything better to do either and also I could maybe get her to buy some candies lol. I just put on my midnight blue wool haori (same one as on my earlier blog post) because it was 0 °C outside, but there was a slightly cold wind.
Oh well, at Lidl I noticed most people looked at me longer than usual, especially after they noticed I was in fact not dressed normally but it seemed more like they were interested/curious than that they were thinking freak, weirdo, wtf-is-wrong-with-you or something else negative. Also some people plainly didn't notice or care at all. Also, I don't know why but some elderly people smiled at me, especially grandmas. xD

Although, ehem, I must confess that I was nervous and anxious at first, while sitting in the car, but my mind quickly went from oh-god-everyone-is-gonna-stare-at-me-I-want-to-hide to I_WEAR_WHAT_I_LIKE_SO_DEAL_WITH_IT. >8D
This was one of the first times I've worn (non-cosplay) kitsuke out in public, by the way. It was fun I must do this more often!

Bye bye!

Kitsuke with a flair of Visual Kei!

Today was my friend Sairu-chan's birthday celebration and I was invited. Of course I decided to dress in kimono this time too and especially so because her younger brother had seemingly requested it. x)
The party would start 15:00 but I dressed many hours ahead and well, because I had a lot of "dead time" I felt like being creative and trying something new that I've wanted to try for the longest time soooo, I decided to do my hair Visual Kei-ish inspired and, while I was at it, I did some total impromptu make-up as well as wore my violet contact lenses (which I've bought for cosplay) to finish the look. I can say I've never styled my hair like this before either, so it's a first time too. Never used this much hairspray in my life before. lololo

Oh, and about the kitsuke it's that dark-blue-or-something-I-don't-know (seriously, the more I look at it the more I can't say what color it really is) copper stripe kimono again; it's one of my favorites I must say. Kaku obi is actually an odori one with black & gold sayagata pattern I've never worn this one before and I felt like wearing it now; I don't know, added some attitude to the coordination. I guess I felt like being at least a bit fabulous this time ~

Now time for photos. Excuse me, everything is taken with the help of a mirror as per usual...

Kai no Kuchi.. as always, haha.
This one does my hairdo some sort of justice.
Close-up just to show my violet contacts, not super obvious on this photo though..
(this photo is not mirrored)
I did put on one of my wool haori before leaving, it was around -12 °C outside. As far as I know one shouldn't mix silk and wool (because wool is informal) but I don't have any silk haori yet, except very formal ones and that would probably not be a so much better choice lol; so I took what I had and I'm glad I did because it was pretty cold at Sairu-chan's home I ended up wearing the haori inside almost at all times because I found it chilly. I don't have so much to say about the birthday party itself, it was quite fun, especially when we went upstairs and I played Super Mario Bros. Wii with Sairu-chan's brother, so many hilarious things happened, oh god. xD

When I got home I took a few photos with the haori still on, this time in the bathroom so excuse the crappy yellow lighting as well as the mirror being dirty...

I must say I found this Visual Kei inspired style to be very fun... even though it took me shitlong to get ready (I kept styling my hair) and I wouldn't have the patience to don myself like this unless for special events or something. Oh well, I guess feedback about this new-for-me style would be interesting. Anyone want to see me experiment with it more in the future? :) Yay or nay with kimono?

Bye bye ~

Birthday celebration kitsuke!

Today I had my birthday celebration (well, not the real date today but the real date is on a weekday so, yeah) and of course I decided to wear kimono. Not like I really have nicer western clothing anyway lol. It seems even mom implied she wanted me to wear kimono haha. But I did pick more bright/colorful shades because otherwise she would have looked at me with this bored face and said "don't you have anything brighter?". I know she would so I went colorful before she could tell me that!

I took a few photos of my outfit before the guests arrived. I couldn't take so many photos though because my brother kept interrupting and telling me to do something else... blah. Oh well, the few I managed to take are all taken with the help of a mirror because yeah, no photographer.

This kimono is a semi-light shade of purple with lots of small white dots all over it but as some of us know purple is a bitch to photograph its true color it looks quite a bit lighter and like it has gray tones in the photos while it doesn't...
Also, guess what kaku obi? *drum roll* The wine red one, of course; but this time I had originally planned to use another blue one, but then mom came with her "don't you have anything else?" comment while I was tying it in the hall and I showed her the wine red obi instead and she was like "use that one instead". :'D

Oh, and one thing, please excuse that band on my wrist. It's actually the ticket from Närcon Vinter (an anime convention in Sweden) and I haven't taken it off yet because it's still pretty recent and I like keeping these on for some time, as memories.

Kai no kuchi has definitely turned into my default musubi...
And I feel like telling a bit of the party itself.
I had invited a few very good friends like my best childhood friend from early school years and we had a sort of gamer party! We played Nintendo Wii and Gamecube and had a blast! I don't see these friends very often so it was a lot of fun to spend some time with them again. I must say none of these friends really knew each other from earlier but we all still got together really well it was nice to see that everyone got along.
I don't have so much more to say than that it was awesome. Oh, and before the guests came we decorated the birthday cake on the morning and it was about to fail at some point so mom raged at the cake and I couldn't hold myself from cracking up.. xD Luckily we managed to save the cake so it didn't turn into a complete disaster!

The finished birthday cake!
It's all home-made, except for that green marzipan top which was bought and trimmed to the right size... it was one of the two main things that was about to go very wrong, the other one being whipped cream. Mom made most of it but I helped with the filling and decoration. It was yummy!

What's not so yummy is that I've eaten way too much cake, candies, chips, lemonade and everything else and now I don't feel all that well... xD Oh well, it's worth it, days like these don't come everyday.

That's all! Sayonara!
